1973
John G. Phillips opened Mr. Phipps located at 111-113 North Elm St. in Westfield MA. A co-owner, with his brother Michael, of the famous Foster House in Westfield. His dream finally was reached at the age 50.
1980
A second store, Mrs Phipps, was opened at 420 Union St. in Westfield.
1982
George and Jordan Phillips, sons of John, take over daily operations of both stores.
1998
John Phillips passed away.
2001
Mrs. Phipps moves over to present location at 485 East Main St. in Westfield. Mrs. Phipps grew from a 6000 sqft. store to a 26,000 sqft. store and changed its name to Super Phipps.
